Recovery in Three Stages

How Care Works at Circle Physiotherapy

Care begins with a detailed evaluation. Nothing is guessed at and nothing is off-the-shelf — your plan fits your diagnosis, goals, and schedule.

1

Examine

You get 15–30 minutes with a Registered Physiotherapist. History first, then testing of range and strength, so we find what drives the pain, not just where it hurts.

2

Treat

Manual techniques, prescribed exercise, and — when the diagnosis calls for it — shockwave, laser, or acupuncture. Sessions run behind a closed door, not an open gym floor.

3

Rebuild

Your home program advances as you improve, with re-tests along the way. We aim to finish stronger than you started, and to prevent a repeat.

Billing Through Your Benefits

Claims go straight to Sun Life, Manulife, Canada Life, Green Shield, Blue Cross, Desjardins, Equitable Life, plus most Canadian carriers. WSIB and motor vehicle accident (MVA) files are handled here too — once approved, the insurer is billed, not you. No referral needed.

Questions We Hear

Before You Begin

What Brampton patients usually want to know before starting treatment.

Is a doctor's referral needed before I can be seen in Ontario?

Not for us. Ontario treats physiotherapy as direct-access care, so book on your own. Some benefit plans still want a referral before reimbursing; if yours does, we will sort the paperwork.

How long does treatment usually take?

That varies with the diagnosis, its severity, and how long you have had it. Fresh injuries like sprains and minor strains often settle within 2–4 weeks. Long-standing and post-surgical cases need 6–12 weeks of graded rehab. Expect an estimate from your physiotherapist on day one.

What do I bring to the first visit?

Pack your health card, benefit plan details including group and policy numbers, loose clothing that lets you move, and copies of any X-ray, MRI, or CT results you have. For a WSIB or MVA file, add the claim number.

Do treatments happen privately or on an open floor?

Assessments and sessions both take place behind a closed door, with one physiotherapist and one patient. The open gym-floor setup is not something we use. Discretion, comfort, and undivided attention matter to us.

Not seeing your condition here?

Plenty of what we handle never made this page, among it vestibular disorders, TMJ, concussion, pelvic floor issues, and rehab after surgery. Phone (905) 495-5600 or reserve an assessment online, and we will confirm whether physiotherapy fits.

Are same-day bookings possible?

Usually yes — same-day and next-day openings come up all week. If the injury is urgent, ring (905) 495-5600 and we will fit you in as soon as we can.

The Range of Problems Our Brampton Clinic Handles

Circle Physiotherapy runs a mixed-discipline roster covering orthopaedic, neurological, post-operative, and pelvic health caseloads. The manual therapy framework we work from was built by a physiotherapist with FCAMPT designation, and under one Brampton roof you will find Registered Massage Therapists, Registered Physiotherapists, a Doctor of Chiropractic, a Level-3 Pelvic Health physiotherapist, and clinicians trained in concussion rehabilitation - so a straightforward strain and a complicated multi-system case can both be managed in-house.

Warning Signs That Need Emergency Care

Most muscle and joint problems are safe for our clinicians to examine and treat. A few presentations are medical emergencies where physiotherapy is NOT the right first step. Head to the closest emergency department, or dial 911, if any of these apply:

  • Abrupt, intense back pain plus loss of bladder or bowel control, groin numbness, or weakening legs (cauda equina syndrome)
  • A "thunderclap" headache, instant and worse than any before - possibly a subarachnoid haemorrhage
  • Fresh neurological signs - drooping face, slurred speech, a limb suddenly weak or numb, or lost vision - signalling a stroke (call 911)
  • Pressure in the chest, trouble breathing, or pain travelling into the jaw or left arm
  • Dislocated joints, bone through skin, or possible spinal damage after trauma
  • Infection warning signs - back pain with fever, a hot swollen joint, or redness creeping outward
  • Weight dropping for no reason, night sweats, or night-dominant pain with a cancer history

Screening for these signs is part of every first assessment. If something turns up that needs prompt medical review or imaging, we will say so that day and help arrange the referral.
